3 Fast Pasta Recipes For Kids

 

 

Spaghetti With Tomato Sauce

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Serves: 4

Ingredients Needed:

 

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 825 g (1lb 11oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 500g (1 lb) spaghetti
  • shavings of fresh parmesan cheese

 

Instructions to make Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce

 

  • Heat the oil in a pan. Add the onion, and cook for 3 minutes, until soft. Add the garlic and then cook for one minute more.
  • Add the can of tomatoes and bring to boil. Add the oregano, tomato paste and sugar; reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Whilst the can of tomatoes are simmering, cook the spaghetti in a large pan of rapidly boiling water until al dente. Drain the pasta and serve topped with tomato sauce and shavings of fresh Parmesan cheese.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ricotta and Basil Lasagnette

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Serves:  4

Preparation: 25 minutes

 

Ingredients Needed:

 

  • 1 cup (20g) fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 cup (50g) of fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tespoon of olive oil
  • 1/3 cup (50g) chopped sun-dried capsicum
  • 1 cup (250g) of sour cream
  • 250g (8 oz) fresh ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup (25g) freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 500g (1lb) lasagnette

 

Instructions to make Ricotta and Basil Lasagnette:

 

  • Place the parley and basil in a food processor or blender until chopped.
  • Heat the oil in a pan. Add the sun-dried capsicum and fry for 2-3minutes. Stir in the sour cream, ricotta and Parmesan; simmer over low heat for 4 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook the lasagnette in a large pan of rapidly boiling water until al dente.
  • Drain and return to the pan. Add the herbs and sauce to the pasta, toss to combine and then serve.

 

 Spaghetti Carbonara with Mushrooms

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Serves: 4

Preparation: 20 minutes

 

Ingredients Needed:

 

  • 8 bacon rashes
  • 2 cups (180g) sliced button mushrooms
  • 500g (1lb) spaghetti
  • 2 teaspoons of chooped fresh oregano
  • 4 eggs whisked
  • 1 cup (250ml) cream
  • 2/3 cup (65g) freshly grated Parmesan cheese

 

Instructions to make Spaghetti Carbonara with Mushrooms

 

  • Trim the bacon and cut into small pieces. Fry until lightly browned and then set aside on paper towels. Add the mushrooms to the pan and fry for 2-3 minutes, until soft.
  • Add the spaghetti to a large pan of rapidly boiling water and cook until al dente. Drain and return to the pan.
  • Add the mushrooms, bacon, oregano and the combined eggs and cream to the spaghetti. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the mixture starts to thicken slightly. Remove from heat and stir in the cheese. Season with salt and cracked black pepper.
